Tetuán · Ad No. 654

From 2.70 €

Just outside Tetouan, next to the Martil River, are the ruins of Tamuda, a Mauretanian city founded around the 2nd century BC which later became a Roman military camp. Remains of walls, towers and streets can still be seen, allowing visitors to imagine life in ancient times. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in northern Morocco. The visit is completed with the Archaeological Museum of Tetouan, in the city centre. 📷 Photographs courtesy of Carole Raddato (CC BY-SA 2.0) and Ideophagous (CC BY-SA 4.0), via Wikimedia Commons.
