In the very heart of the city, the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary protects a lagoon of marshes and mangroves where thousands of greater flamingos live. From its hides you can spot herons, cormorants, and migratory birds with Dubai's skyscrapers in the background. A surprising spot for nature and photography lovers. The viewing platforms have binoculars and informative panels, and the best time to visit is winter, when more migratory birds arrive.
