Legación Americana de Tánger

The American Legation is the first piece of US-owned real estate outside of its home country, gifted by the Sultan of Morocco in 1821. Today it is a museum and cultural center that explores Tangier's diplomatic history, with a room dedicated to the writer Paul Bowles and a collection of maps, engravings, and paintings. Its architecture combines Moroccan and Western styles around charming courtyards.
