Gran Zoco (Plaza 9 de Abril)

Grand Socco, officially 9 April 1947 Square, is the heart of Tangier and the main gateway to the medina. Surrounded by the Sidi Bou Abib Mosque, the Rif Cinema and the Mendoubia Gardens, it is a constantly lively place where vendors, families and travellers come together. From here, streets lead up towards the kasbah and down towards Petit Socco.
