El Pequeño Zoco is a tiny square in the center of the medina that was, during the era of the International Zone, a meeting point for writers, spies, and bohemians like Paul Bowles or William Burroughs. Its historic cafés, such as Café Central and Café Tingis, preserve that literary atmosphere. Sitting on a terrace with mint tea and watching people go by is one of the most quintessential Tangier experiences. From here, the narrow streets lead to the port, the kasbah, and the artisan souks. 📷 Photographs courtesy of Boubloub (CC BY-SA 4.0), via Wikimedia Commons.
