MEDINA DE TETUÁN

Tetuán · Ad No. 66

The Medina of Tetouan is the historical heart of the city and one of the best-preserved urban areas in Morocco. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, it stands out for its strong Andalusian influence, the result of the arrival of refugees from the Iberian Peninsula after the Reconquista. Its narrow streets are home to traditional souks, artisan workshops, mosques, squares, and historical buildings that have kept the city's character intact for centuries. It is considered one of the most authentic and least altered medinas in the country.
