Rome · Ad No. 101
The Colosseum is Rome's most iconic monument and one of the world's most recognizable symbols. Opened in 80 AD, this gigantic amphitheater could hold over 50,000 spectators who attended gladiator fights, animal hunts, and public spectacles. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, it stands out for its extraordinary state of conservation and for representing the peak of Roman architecture. A visit here is usually completed with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.
