Jardines de Agdal

Marrakech · Ad No. 617

The 12th-century Agdal Gardens are a UNESCO World Heritage site alongside the medina. They extend south of the royal palace with orchards of orange, pomegranate, and olive trees, as well as large ponds that served as a water reservoir for the city. Their silence and monumental scale surprise those arriving from the bustle of the souks. They are only open a few days a week, usually weekends, so it is best to check before going. 📷 Photographs courtesy of Patrice (CC BY 2.0), Marrakech,_Agdal_Gardens,_2007-08-01.jpg: Patrice derivative (CC BY 2.0) and mwanasimba (CC BY-SA 2.0), via Wikimedia Commons.
