Gueliz is the new city of Marrakech, laid out during the French protectorate with wide avenues, Art Deco buildings, and jacarandas. Today it is the most cosmopolitan neighborhood, featuring art galleries, design boutiques, trendy cafes, and international cuisine restaurants. Its Mohammed V Avenue connects with the Koutoubia and the medina.
